Silver Winner for Horror in the Colorado Independent Publishers Association EVVY Award.
Six years have passed since Sam and Alex thought they had vanquished the vengeful ghost of Bartholomew Ka from his Victorian home. But they were wrong. Bartholomew has been watching, waiting for his chance to strike back. And now, he has found his opportunity in Lanie Schnell, a teenage girl whose soul is filled with The Darkness.
As Bartholomew possesses Lanie, he rediscovers the joys of living in a body: the taste of food, the smell of flowers, and the sensation of touch. But he soon realizes Lanie’s spirit is not easily broken. Forced to endure life as a teenage girl, Bartholomew struggles for control as he leads Lanie down a path of hatred and deceit, further isolating her from her friends and mother.
Using Lanie as his pawn, Bartholomew gains access to his old house and Sam’s life, determined to exact revenge no matter the cost.

With a degree in Creative Writing from Colorado Mesa University and a passion for continuous education, Sunshine Knight has honed her craft and gained inspiration from influential authors such as Anne Rice and Stephen King. Her writing style is a testament to her ability to explore different styles of storytelling and take risks in her work.
She lives in a small town on the Western Slope of Colorado with her three psychotic cats and her husband whose only flaw is he thinks he’s The Brain and she’s Pinky.
When not writing, Sunshine Knight enjoys reading all genres, spending time in the great outdoors, camping in the solitude of the Grand Mesa and West Elk mountains. She also tends to her numerous flower, vegetable, and herb gardens, and most importantly, spends precious time with her family and friends.
The idea for Bartholomew Ka, the main character in her series, was born from a solo trip to New England in October 2008. It started as a ghostly love story but evolved into a study of humanity, exploring why people become so broken. Her ability to create a fictional town based on her favorite places in her hometown of South Denver showcases her talent for world-building and attention to detail.
Breaking the rules of publishing, Sunshine Knight has stated that The Ka Series will most likely be her only foray into horror/paranormal stories, as she is constantly exploring other styles of storytelling. Her dedication to her craft and willingness to take risks are sure to keep readers coming back for more.
